10:05 am "Enhancing Relationships to Reduce Stressors," Olivia Bury, MA, LPC, AgriSafe
Communication and relationships are common stressors cited by producers and farm families. Combining family and business is challenging. Presented through a farm family lens, this 1-hour training focuses on building communication skills to navigate tough conversations whether talking to an employee or a spouse. Designed to mitigate miscommunication, achieve mutual goals, and create positive outcomes, this topic is popular with commodity groups and producer serving organizations.
Objectives:
- Explore the role of personal values in communication.
- Discuss impacts of verbal and non-verbal communication
- Apply strategies to prepare yourself for difficult conversations
- Practice using minimal encouragers and general communication strategies for positive outcomes.
